Silence of the Lambs - (CLASSIC FILM REVIEW) (TW)

Image
5 words I managed to conjure up as the closing credits began on the movie ‘Silence of the Lambs’? Hannibal Lecter is a genius.    The 18 rated movie is now my favourite thriller/suspense/ drama ever! Don’t get me wrong, I was absolutely petrified for more than half of this movie, but I loved every second of it regardless.    Released in February 1991, this classic is based and adapted from the 1988 novel by Thomas Harris and follows our protagonist Clarise Starl ing (portrayed by Jodie Foster) as she unravels a current serial murder investigation with the unacquainted help of the ingenious and estranged convicted criminal, Hannibal Lecter, (portrayed by Anthony Hopkins).    I’ll probably be considered a baby or uncultured when I say this, but I’ve never watched a film with either Foster or Hopkins until now. However, I’ve heard those infamous names countless times whilst claiming I was a film fanatic and feen. I clearly wasn’t. Who doesn’t know Anthony Hopk...

Reviewing Every Song of 'Give Me The Future'- Bastille (ALBUM REVIEW)

Image
Bastille's brand new album 'Give Me The Future' was released on 7th February 2022, and as a die-hard, reliable fan, it's only right that I give my honest and authentic opinion.  You will see my raw opinions as I  review one song at a time and prepare myself for the next, accordingly. Who's opinion to care about more than a 21-year-old's with nothing better to do on a Thursday evening? Exactly!  Bastille, if you see this, have a look at @bastilleismine on Twitter to see just how die-hard I am, then send me a t-shirt  or vinyl. Enjoy the roller coaster of an experience you're about to read! 1.       Distorted Light Beam: The futuristic sound is something Bastille has really started to include in their recent albums. When I attended my first Bastille concert, they were supported by ‘Rationale’. This song gives me that vibe. I enjoyed the new, experimental sound, however, felt it became too repetitive. Although the song didn’t even hit the three-...

The Breakfast Club (CLASSIC FILM REVIEW)

Image
February 1985, the world was introduced to ‘The Breakfast Club’. 37 years later, I’ve skimmed through every channel and his friend to stick it on.   Picture this: It's Saturday on a cold March morning and five high school students set off for an all-day Saturday detention. All from different ‘cliques’, the vice president has gone off galivanting and the students have been left to their own devices all day: dancing, talking, smoking illegal substances. I could use a day in detention like that, am I right? The movie may not be everyone’s cup of tea, there isn’t a lot of drama like in the ‘Jaws’ series and no one’s being shot at, like in every ‘classic’ action movie ever; but It’s simple with a hidden meaning, and I liked it.   In life today, I bet you want me to tell you this is exactly what high school’s like don’t you? Or education in general. I bet you think all students are rallying about the place, climbing through roofs, and avoiding the hierarchies of the instituti...

Top 100 Songs of 2021 (Playlist)

Image
In 2021, for me, new music wasn't as enjoyable as in previous years. The albums released weren’t necessarily my cup of tea, that’s not to say though that I didn’t enjoy a fair few. From Doja Cat to Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish. From Lil Nas X to Adele and Silk Sonic. The variety was great as was the quality and elevated sounds.    As you read this list, please bear in mind that I’m not trying to live in the past, these are simply just my favourites of 2021. I often enjoyed reminiscing, especially with ‘Taylor’s Version’ taking over my year and my all-time favourite songs just swooping in and taking over my playlists. As we go from 100-1 in alphabetical order of artists, hopefully, you recognise a few or add some to your own playlist. In my opinion, they’re great, and I’m excited to welcome the music of 2022. Here's my 2021 top 100: 100. Electric - Alina Baraz (feat. Khalid) 99. Fake Smile - Ariana Grande 98. Happier Than Ever- Billie Eilish 97. Honey Sweet- Blossoms  ...
